IPL (The Photo Genesis Procedure) - Color Enhancement
Overtime, everyone's skin is affected by inevitable exposure to UV light which cause color/pigment changes on the surface layer of the skin. This results in redness (rosacea), pigmentation (sun spots or age spots), solar lentigines (freckles), all of which cause the skin to appear uneven, fatigued, and less youthful. *
By delivering gentle and safe pulsed light energy to the surface layer of the skin (epidermis and the papillary dermis), these bothersome changes are eliminated, resulting in an even and uniform skin tone. After just two to three treatments remarkable regenerative results can be achieved. Your skin will feel and look soft, smooth and vibrant!*
Please ask our office or Dr. Yagudin about the 3D Complete Rejuvenation Package which also includes Photo Genesis.
FAQ For Photo Genesis:
What is the difference of The Photo Genesis?
This procedure is very comfortable. It's pulsed light system is exceptionally effective for treating skin redness (rosacea), brown spots and sun damage at a very comfortable energy level. There is no need to apply topical anesthetic or gel beforehand, and you can realize remarkable results in just one or two treatments. *
What areas can be treated?
Virtually any part of your body with uneven skin tone, diffuse redness, or sun and age spots can be safely treated. The face, chest, shoulders and arms are the most popular areas for treatment because they have typically had the most sun exposure. Discrete brown spots, excessively ruddy complexions and skin densely covered with freckles respond well to treatment. *
What does the treatment do?
The visible light delivered by the Photo Genesis procedure is selectively absorbed by the pigmented spots and red areas on your skin, It's the heating of the pigmented cells that causes the therapeutic effect.*
Will I need to have an anesthetic?
No. Unlike other systems, the Photo Genesis treatment requires no topical anesthetic or gel before treatment. Gel is messy, time consuming, and uncomfortable. Photo Genesis is the next generation in pulsed light treatments.*
What do treatments feel like?
When the handpiece is placed on your skin, it will feel cool and comfortable. When the pulse of light is delivered, you may feel a mild, brief pinching sensation. *
How long will the treatment take?
The actual treatment will only take a few minutes. And, since there is no need to apply gel or any topical anesthetic, your total appointment time can easily fit within your lunch hour.*
How many treatments will I need?
Typically, one or two treatments are sufficient to see dramatic results. Additional treatments may be required for very large or dark spots, densely freckled areas, or excessively sun damaged skin. *
What happens after the treatment?
Immediately following the treatment, the spots may start to darken. You may notice a slight reddening of the surrounding skin. This typically subsides within a couple of hours. Over the course of the next one to three weeks, darkened spots will fade and flake off. Your mottled complexion will clear. Please consult with Dr. Yagudin for complete information on the benefits and risks of treatment.*
PHOTO- GENESIS POST-OPERATIVE CARE:*
Ice, chilled gel or hydro-gel pads may be applied post-treatment as needed for patient comfort.
Treated lentigines (Freckles) usually darken after treatment and crusting begins to form within a few days. This crusting usually resolves in 1 to 3 weeks. It should be allowed to naturally flake off for the best results.
While the crusting is present, moisturizing the skin with lotion or lubricating cream may enhance healing and provide patient comfort.
Localized redness may also be present and typically resolves within 24 to 48 hrs.
If a wound develops, an antibiotic ointment (Polysporin) may be recommended.
ITCHING IS A SIGN OF A DRY SKIN; USE ANY LUBRICATING CREAM REGULAR TO OVOID ITCH AND SCRATCHING.
Re-treatment should not be performed until al the crusting has cleared.
Patient should avoid artificial tanning or sun exposure without sun protection, in the four weeks following treatment. You should use sunscreen (SPF50 or greater) at all times throughout the course of treatment.
